英文摘要 | The primary goals of this project were to trace the female students, who were graduated from gifted classes in senior high schools during 1986 to 1998 in Taiwan, and to understand their career development as well as selfevaluation of potential development currently. The subjects were 840 gifted young women aged 22 to 35, 199 were talented in science, 108 were talented in language art, 209 were talented in music, 241 were talented in visual arts, and 83 in dance. "The Career Development Questionnaire for the Gifted Female Students" was used in this study; it consists of 4 parts: Personal information, Sexual role perception, Career barriers, and Open-ending questions regarding potential development. The test-retest reliability coefficient of this scale was between .496 and .882. The coefficient of internal consistency was between .634 and .785. The expert validity was between .86 and 1.00. The results of this study are as follows: 1.As to the sexual role perception, the stereotyped awareness of marriage (M=2.86) was higher than of job (M=2.89), of family (M=2.91), and of schooling (M=3.10). Besides that, there were significance differences among groups in different talent, age distribution, monthly income, marital status, and sum of children. 2.In regard to career barriers, the lack of career latest information and consultation hindered the schooling group most. The decrease of employment training and latest information, living support, and family opinions affected the employment group a lot. Sociality and pressure of non-employment besieged the group neither a student nor an employment. The single group was influenced by parents' marital status to get married or not. The main career barrier for married group was coming from their family burden. The group with children paid much attention to their children. On the other hand, the group without any children was dread of being hindered from rearing children. 3.Those who were older with high educational background and vocational position, getting more monthly income, and developing their gifted potential had higher self- evaluation potential development than others. 4.The less the career barrier is, the self-evaluation potential development is better. The score difference of external factors between employment barriers (.94, p<.001) was higher than that of internal factors between employment barriers (.76, p<.00l). |
