中文摘要 | 儷古分體,始於南朝,儷體尚辭藻而矜情韻,古體重義理而競氣勢,各有偏勝,難得齊美。唯魏晉以前,二體合一,駢散相濟,氣韻互融。或銜華而佩實,或含質而咀英。上自聖經賢傳,下至秀士文人,莫不有諸內而形諸外,實志義而鍊藻采,志動則辭興,義舉則文發。然以志有輔而易明,故辭無單孑;義孤伸而難盡,故文多複雙。所以古辭之中,間儷偶之句;虛散之體,出整贍之章,儷以傍古,整以依散,文質「合德」,情采「同功」,旨義鴻懿,藻章綺華,猶稟虎豹威猛之質,而備龍鳳煥綺之彩也。 故古辭間儷,體有四義:一則複雙以贍事義,二則矞皇以盡情志,三則便利記誦,四則調適辭氣。複雙故實徵而理舉,矞皇故情暢而志通,記誦有便,則心不告勞;辭氣能調,則文乃克裕。四義既成,篇章始貴。古體以立意為宗,儷辭以致用為美。故自昔篇籍,莫不散中有駢,論敘剖析,便可昭然心目矣! 是知屬辭之道,來自思理,思無定檢,故辭不限體,寫志之情雖一,而出言異句,敘事之狀雖同,而下筆殊形,所以駢散適會,奇偶隨需,鑽研其術,乃知其理,古辭間儷之因,蓋適文用之故也。 |
英文摘要 | In addition to ordinary prose, ping-ti (駢體) is another form of prose with focus on parallel syntactical structure in classical Chinese literature. Though the form did not appear before Han dynasty, parallelism was already used in prose that is referred to as gu-tze-chien-li (古辭間儷). There are four reasons for ancient Chinese authors to apply parallelism to prose: 1. to strengthen the arguments in prose (allusions and arguments); 2. to emphasize the emotions of authors (emotions and mind); 3. to facilitate memorization; and 4. to regulate the development of the body and diction. Therefore, parallelism became a useful technique for authors to express themselves freely in classical prose. |
