英文摘要 | “The Poetry of Swallows” describes a story about a couple of besieged and wounded swallows that laboriously built a nest. They were usurped by the unreasonable sparrow as well as the judicial process when the suffering swallows alleged an accusation to phoenix, the king of brids. According to the fable, sparrow invabded the private residence which exactly reflect social reality of the Tang Dynasty. Despite the constant usurpation and interventions by the rich and powerful, this contemporary subject was often reflected in scholorly literary works. “The Poetry of Swallows”, presents the arbitrary sparrow, the injustice to the swallow; the myna’s arrest, the phoenix’s trial, the wagtail’s rescue, the sparrow’s wife visitation; the prison guard refusing bribes, the sarcastic ridiculing by the swan, and so on. “The Poetry of Swallow” not only reflects world humanity and societal reality, but also fully unfolds the general situation of the judicial process of the Tang Dynasty. Through the sparrow’s corpus delicti, the swallow’s accusation and the phoenix’s trial, the poetry specifically presents the judicial issues in the Tang Dynasty such as accusation, acceptance, arrestment and subpoena, interrogation, prison management issues, rehearing at a night trial; and finalizing a lawsuit. The concrete and profound description of the entrie process indicates that the author was well adept in the legal system of the Tang Dynasty. |
