英文摘要 | Proper procedures based on microcapsulated food for the large-scale group-rearing of green lacewings, Mallada basalis Walker, have been developed in the past few years. Lacewings fed on microcapsulated artificial food or Corcyra cephalonica eggs were continually reared for 20 generations over more than 2 years. The number of adults emerging per generation, adult fecundity, longevity, and the hatchability of F1 eggs in the 2 cultures were compared. The cost of producing lacewings with microcapsulated artificial food was calculated to be NT$1.22/adult. Adding 4 ml of C. cephalonica eggs to the microcapsulated diet cultural procedures to feed 1st instar larvae caused the cost to drop to NT$0.95/adult. This is about half the cost of the cultural method using only C. cephalonica eggs. Possible ways to further decrease costs are discussed. |
