英文摘要 | From the Battle of Antietam to the closing days of Herbert Hoover's Great Depression plagued administration, African American voters clung steadfastly with an unflinching and devoutly loyal adherence to the party of Abraham Lincoln) And indeed up to the 1932 and 1936 elections, it would be impossible to find any ethnic group in the American political history as unswervingly loyal to any political party as was the case in the allegiance of America's African American voters to the Republican party. But of course, as is common knowledge, by FDR's second campaign this universally recognized spirit of Black Republican loyalty had gone through a thundering change as the national African American community, in what seemed to be an abrupt transformation, marched in massive number into the ranks of the Democratic Party and became the indispensable cornerstone of the New Deal, liberal, labor coalition. |
