中文摘要 | 霧是一種常發生在沿海平原與山地地區的天氣現象,對人類活動有很大的影響。在臺灣,雖然霧發生的機會非常頻繁,但相關研究相當少,多集中在探討霧發生的頻率與霧的分布,反之國外的研究內容尚涵蓋到霧的取樣分析、與空氣污染的關係及對各種生態系水文及營養收支的影響。前人研究顯示,不同類型的霧因形成機制不同,內含物的組成可能有極大的差異;此外,霧的取樣不易,定量尤難,不同的取樣設備的取樣效能有別並可能造成所取霧之化學性質的差異,研究者需根據不同的研究目的採用不同的取樣方法;霧的粒徑小,較雨水對污染物有更高的攔截效率;霧的分布具有明顯時空差異,在特定的生態系(如加洲海岸的紅樹林)中扮演重要的角色,對生態系的水文循環與營養收支均有顯著的影響。透過相關文獻的整理與分析,本整理發現認為臺灣在霧研究方面有極需開拓填補的空間,尤在於霧的理化性質分析與長期監測,以及霧對霧林帶生態系的影響等,對霧深入的探討將有助於對這些生態系經營管理。 |
英文摘要 | Fog is a common meteorological phenomenon along costal plains and montane areas and has great impact on human activities. Yet, there are scarce studies on fog in Taiwan. The limited studies focused mainly on the frequency and distribution of fog events. Internationally fog studies include a variety of topics including sampling techniques, the relationship between air pollution and fog deposition, and the influences of fog on hydrological cycle and nutrient budget in various ecosystems. Studies indicate that fog formed with different mechanisms often shows distinct chemical compositions. Fog collection remains a major challenge in fog studies as differences in sampling techniques may affect the chemical composition of the collected fog. Researchers must choose sampling techniques with special care to meet the objectives. Due to the small particle size, fog droplets are effective pollutant scavengers. Fog plays an important role in specific ecosystems such as the redwood forests in California, US and has significant influence on hydrological cycle and nutrient budget. Through literature review, we found major gaps in fog studies needed to be filled in Taiwan. Studies on fog chemistry, long-term fog monitoring and the influences of fog on montane forests are especially needed. Comprehensive studies of fog could make the management of fog—impacted ecosystems more effectively. |
