英文摘要 | The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of social phenomenon of hi-tech orientation on the learning experience (learning environment, career planning, college decision-making) of verbally talented senior high school students. Subjects consisted of 124 sophomore students, 57 were male and 67 were female. Data were collected from the questionnaire and in-depth interview. The main findings of this research were as the following: 1.Male verbally talented students were affected more easily by their counterparts, teachers, and public opinion than females. Female students held more positive attitudes toward their own talents and also felt more satisfactory with regard to the learning environment. 2.English-specific talented students took more positive viewpoints in their language development or job marke than Chinese-specific talented students. The latter felt more concerned about their future employment possibilities. In conclusion, there were significant differences in gender or specific language categories for verbally talented students. Based on the results, some suggestions were made for facilitating the career development of verbally gifted students. |
