英文摘要 | In this article, the concepts of collective-group rent-seeking and rent-defending are combined. It analyzes both the collective-group rent-seeking and the rent-defending activities under the conditions that many rent-defending consumers coexist and that the sharing rule of the rent-seeking group is endogenous. We find that (1) for the rent-seekers to engage in collective-group rent-seeking, their collective rent-seeking group will have to be of a relative scale. That is, groups without the necessary scale will not last. (2) When rent-seekers engage in collective-group rent-seeking, the number of the rent-defending consumers actually participating in rent-defending will be limited. (3) When the consumers' rent-defending and the rent-seekers' collective-group rent-seeking coexist, a. if the possibility for the rent-seekers to engage in collective-group rent-seeking is neglected, it will result in an over-estimation of the overall Tullock outlays; b. if the consumers' rent-defending activities are overlooked, it will result in an under-estimation of the overall Tullock outlays. |
