英文摘要 | Ninety-nine percent of the now known Han rhapsodists and their readers are men, thus to both women's pictures and the ways to picture women revealed in rhapsodies were based on men's criterion and perception of women. This paper attempts to explore male and female identities during this period by analyzing three types of male-female interaction expressed through Han rhapsodies that deal with the subject of sexual desires, i.e., that between a group of men interacting with a group of women, between one man interacting with one women, and between one man interacting with a group of women in presence of a group of men. The research finds that in these writings women are protrayed in the following images: pieces of properties to be shown off, covetable food to satisfy male sexual appetite, mirrors that reflect men's desire for power and strength, idolaters of manhood, and contamintors of male morality, etc. It appears that whatever kind of female identities are revealed in the text, men were primarily concerned about projecting and constructing their self-identities, using women merely as the media. |
