英文摘要 | The subject of this paper is the experimental investigation of thermoacoustic prime movers in an annular geometry. The most significant aspect to this research is to design, build, and experimentally investigate a single stack, annular prime mover. Measurements are presented for resonance frequency, reciprocal of the quality factor Q of the prime mover versus temperature difference across the stack T, and mode shape for the annular prime mover. Theoretical values are computed by the MATLAB program described in the relevant paper [1]. It is seen that there is good agreement between the measurements and predicted values. The results of this research indicate that the single stack annular prime mover will not reach onset and the reason is well understood. It is suggested that by placing another constriction in the annulus, the pressure and velocity nodes may be displaced from the stack, providing the possibility of the annular prime mover reaching onset. This is left for future work. |
