中文摘要 | 如何省電及有效使用頻寬是行動計算中主要研究的課題。利用廣播訊息的方式,可以使無線環境中的有限頻寬有更加的使用效率。同時,行動臺(Mobile Station)藉由廣播頻道讀取所需要的訊息,由於不再需要對基地臺發出要求而可以節省大量的電力。當行動臺由廣播頻道讀取所需要的訊息時,能藉由系統加入的額外資訊得知何時應進入睡眠狀態(Doze Mode)及何時需要回復活動狀態(Active Mode)。由於行動臺在睡眠狀態所耗電力遠少於活動狀態所耗電力,且一般而言,當行動臺由廣播頻道完成讀取一正確訊息期間,其進入睡眠狀態的時間遠大於處於活動狀態的時間。因此行動臺可藉由這些額外資訊節省大量電力。 本論文提出一種Push-based的廣播機制,利用各訊息被行動臺讀取頻率的差異性,配合所提出Pinwheel排程法,將各訊息與協助行動臺搜尋該訊息之相關資訊一同適當的安排在廣播時槽中,行動臺由讀取該相關資訊便能決定在何時需讀取次一筆相關資訊。在等待次一相關資訊期間,行動臺便可進入睡眠狀態以節省電力。 |
英文摘要 | Energy saving is one of the most important issues in wireless mobile computing. The broadcast paradigm with selecting tuning is widely used for power conservation. In this paper, we propose an energy saving broadcast mechanism belonging push-based broadcast to support range queries on the data with skewed access frequency. The mobile station listens to the broadcast channel to get desired data in the active mode and goes to sleep in doze mode to wait for the desired data to come. The Pinwheel scheduling algorithm is used to construct data into broadcast channel according to the access frequency of these. Both tuning and access time of this mechanism are analyzed. A numerical results show that our proposed method has good improvement in tuning time and access time. |
