英文摘要 | Max Weber and Liang Shu-ming both evaluate Confucianism from the perspective of comparative culture. From the view of sociology, Weber maintained that Confucianism belonged to the field of religion, and he belittled it in comparison with the protestant ethics. From the angle of psychology, Liang Shu-ming denied Weber’s view and showed the value of Confucianism in comparison with religion. In Weber’s opinion, Confucianism was not rational enough, since it was still under the influence of witchery. In Liang Shu-ming’s view, Confucianism had the highest level of reason, since it had transcended the utilitarian thinking. Weber regarded Confucianism as traditionalism and an obstacle to the development of Chinese society, while Liang Shu-ming thought that Confucianism was filled with creative spirit and would bring forth the historical leap of Chinese society. |
