英文摘要 | The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of factory automation and computer-integrated manufacturing (CIM) on compensation strategies. Relying on the data collected from 147 Taiwanese manufacturing establishments, the regression results of the study found that (1) production automation had significant positive impact on competitive pay level strategy, long-term incentives, and team incentives; (2) advanced manufacturing technology (AMT) was postively associated with competitive pay level strategy, long-term incentives, and skill-based pay strategy; (3) high-degree CIM had significant positive effects on all five compensation strategies; and (4) medium CIM had only significant effects on competitive pay level strategy and skill-based pay strategy. These results, to certain extent, support our hypotheses in the study. In particular, the higher the degree of CIM, the more likely all five pay strategies were adopted. |
