英文摘要 | Cochlear implanation is now considered a sale and effective rehabilitation for the profound hearing loss. Its design was chiefly based on western language. Chinese, as well as other tone-languages, has distinct phonetic characteristics which may be important for speech comprehension and must be taken into consideration in the design of coding strategy. We compare the currently available coding strategy and their rationable for use in tone-language. The fundamental frequency of a tone-language fluctuates, which provides lexically distinct hint for speech recognition. There was no consonant-ending phoneme in modern chinese. A coding strategy which emphasizes on low-frequency pitch discrimination may benefit tone recognition. Current trend was to elevate the stimulating frequency, which seemed to represent consonants more effectively. A hybrid coding strategy using higher stimulating frequency and preserving the fundamental frequency fluctuation hint seemed to be a reasonable combination. |
