中文摘要 | 本文主旨,乃在探討教室用語對大一學生英聽學習之成效。臺灣的許多學者認為,教師必須完全使用目標語言上課,才會提高英文聽力學習成果。但是,也有一些研究者提出論點強調,使用母語教學才得以減低學生在學習外語時的恐懼與憂慮。本實驗在1999年第一學期舉行,兩組學生加入為期十六週的英文聽力實驗。結果,完全目標語言組之學習成果,優於部份時間使用母語上課組。本文先探討教室用語的實驗步驟,查考聽力研究文獻與量的分析,最後提出研究結論與英聽教學建言,給英語聽力授課老師們參考。 |
英文摘要 | This paper mainly discusses efficiency of in-class language use for Feshman English. Some scholars in Taiwan believe exclusive target language use accelerates efficiency in listening comprehension, yet some hold that mother tongue reduces learners' fear and anxiety while learning English as a Foreign Language. Two groups participated in this 16-week experiment during the first semester of the 1999 academic session. The paper first explores in-class language use for listening comprehension, reviews some studies in listening research and quantitative data analysis, then provides suggestions for teachers of English listening courses. |
