英文摘要 | An AK growth model is constructed to investigate the effects of technology improvements and increased environmental care on environmental quality and economic growth. The economy accumulates capital goods which are used not only in production, but also in pollution control. The main conclusions are as follows. The progress in abatement technology cause the environmental quality to improve and the economic growth rate to rise. The progress in production technology raises the economic growth rate, but it degrades the environmental quality. The increase in environmental care causes the environmental quality to improve, but lowers the economic growth rate. If production technology and environmental care rise in the same proportion, the environmental quality does not change, but the economic growth rate can be raised. If the percentage rise in environmental care is much larger than that of production technology, the environmental quality can be improved, with the economic growth rate unaffected. The effect of progress in production technology on the utility level is larger than that of same proportional progress in abatement technology. |
