中文摘要 | 以信、達、雅做為翻譯之衡量及評估,行之已久。此三個評鑑效標由於缺乏量化之依據常被視為不科學。藉由參考偉佛(Weaver)及夏南(Shannon)於1949所創之數學模式傳播過程(Mathematical model of communication process)及企業及科技領域所盛每之系統方法(System approach),本研究旨在討論並分析翻譯過程中相關變數(Variables)的量化問題。本研究發現翻譯過程涉及八個步驟,為偉佛及夏南傳統傳播過程之兩倍;同時,各步驟與步驟之間產生某種程度之關係而影響翻譯之結果。本研究亦發現,當標準傳播模式之複雜度設為C時,那麼,經由計算,得知翻譯過程之複雜度則為18C。本研岣時發現,隨著研究者所設定準確度及複雜度之不同,便產生了不同的組合的翻譯評鑑結果。組合愈多,表示我們愈可以深入了翻譯過程中所涉及的思考深度及廣度,因而更能精確分析及分辨翻譯結果。根據研究者所設立之三個不同模式,即Yes-No模式、10-criteria模式、及100 criteria模式來計算,的到最一化翻譯之或然率以Yes-No模式最高為1/216,其次為10-criteria 1/6534,再其次為100-criteria 1/5500804。 |
英文摘要 | By adopting an extended version of Weaver and Shannon’ mathematical model of communication model (1949), and by utilizing the system approach model which is widely used in technology and management, this paper aims at quantifying possible variables in the process of translation. This study finds that in the process of translation eight steps are involved, in contrast to four steps in the traditional communication model. If we postulate the complexity level of the standard communication model at 18xC. This study further finds that different combinations of translation results may be derived, depending mainly on the precision and complexity levels to be obtained by translation theorists. The probability of obtaining an optimal translation result may either be 1/216, 1/6534, or 1/550804, depending ont eh three suggested models, namely the yes-no model, the 10-criteria model and the 100-criteria model. Translation as a communication process is therefore found to be highly complex. |
