中文摘要 | 美商花旗銀行有將近百分八十的業務可透過ATMs、電話或網際網路進行,相較於全美國銀行平均百分之四十左右的水準,可看出其資訊化程度相當地高。若以一九九八年花旗銀行在臺分行的稅後盈餘與臺灣全體銀行的稅後盈餘做比較,花旗銀行在臺分行的單位分行稅後盈餘為全臺之冠,所以了解花旗銀行資訊化程度所影響其獲利多寡為一重要之課題。故本研究利用一九九五年六月到一九九九年三月間,美商花旗銀行在臺分行的月資料,實證探討其資訊技投入的高低對其獲利的影響。結果顯示,花旗銀行在臺分行資訊科技投入水準的改變對獲利確實有顯著的影響。且當以「每單位人事費用的稅前淨利」為資訊化變數時,其與銀行獲利的關係達1%顯著水準的正相關。由研究結果也發現:當資訊化的結果能確實使銀行人力成本的開支減少,並進而提高每一單位員工的營收貢獻度時,則資訊化才能真正的發揮其功能,提高銀行的獲利能力。 |
英文摘要 | Almost 80 percent of daily transactions in the U.S. Citi group was through the electronic facilities, e.g., ATMs, telephones, or internet. The information technology (IT) in the Citi group was noted to well develop, as compared with the other banks in the United States. According to the report of the Banker, the Citi group was top one in the world banks in 1998 and 1999. highly developed IT in the of IT on the bank's profit. In this study, the financial data of the Citi group in Taiwan branches was used from June, 1995 to March, 1999. according to the empirical results, the different factors of IT were noted to have significant effect on the profit of the Citi group branches in Taiwan. It was found that the relationship between bank's profit and the different level of IT was positive at 1% significant level, when the net earning per personnel expense was chosen as the variable of IT. The results also showed that at the development of IT might increase bank's profit only if the personnel expense could be decreased through well-used information technology. |
