英文摘要 | The major findings on real time cranial ultrasound in patients with CNS infections are echogenic sulci and convexity leptomeningeal thickening in bacterial meningitis, hydrocephalus and normal looking sulci in TBM, thick irregular hyperechoic ependymal lining and intraventricular echoes in ventriculitis, hyperechoic capsule and hypoechogenic central core in brain abscess and near normal findings in viral encephalitis. Surveys of referring physicians and correlation with the clinical diagnosis and sonographic findings showed that there was good correlation between the clinical diagnosis by child neurologists and the sonographic results of bacterial meningitis (92%), TB meningitis (88%), brain abscess (87%) and ventriculitis (90%). |
