英文摘要 | This paper reports the search for the necessity of offering in/pre-service teacher training opportunities in Taiwan through distance education. As a response to the need for change in the way educational services are provided, the use of computer-based information technology is evolving. With modern information technologies and new instructional strategies coming there is a major force in education. Lots of successful cases over the world have influenced Taiwan's educational institutions facing the realme of distance education. The questions on the survey of "Readiness assessment of technical skills and competency for online courses" provide a framework to describe the characteristics of the learners. A needs assessment represents learners' need and wilingness to have online training course. The primary mode of delivery is synchronized, ISDN-based videoconferencing with the courses delivered between two remote sites. Planning and organizing a countrywide distance learning model is different from a traditional correspondence course. This discussion also highlights the instructional design of distance education initiatives. |
