英文摘要 | Objective: Three different statistical models were developed to search for items of the Munich Alcoholism Test (MALT) which are not influenced by culture. Methods: The thirty-one item MALT was applied in several European (Germany and Spain) and Hispanic American (Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Chile and Bolivia) countries. Culture-free items were defined based on the following analytical techniques: the metaanalytic-heuristical model (MHM); the five stepwise model (5SM); and the seven-filter model (7FM). Analysis of test items related to alcoholism was examined using uni- and multivariate procedures. Results: Using the MHM 12, culture-free items were identified which explained 56.6% of the variance, had a 92.2% correct classification and an internal consistency of 0.88. The 5SM distinguished 13 items which explained 61.4% of the variance, had a 93.8% correct classification and an internal consistency of 0.94. The 7FM recognized four culture-free items which explained 80.6% of the variance, had a 100.0% correct class ification and an internal consistency of 0.91. Conclusion: The results of this study indicated that four MALT items obtained using the 7FM had a stronger culture-free internal diagnostic structure than those obtained using the 5SM and the MHM. The findings of this study suggest that the 7FM should be suitable for application in other studies seeking to design cross-cultural case screening instruments. |
