英文摘要 | Teaching social studies in elementary school is really a challenge. It not only comprises many social sciences, but also the change of our society is very sharp. The citizenship education in schools desires to educate students to be a whole person and have the ability to solve the problem in their own life. The article explains what social studies is, the state of social studies in schools. Then discuss why we teach social studies and what material the student should learn. Finally, how to teach social studies curriculum should help students gain proficient knowledge in inquiry, valuing and decision. Teachers are decision-makers. Except being familiar with the subject material, they should plan teaching strategy. Effective teachers would actually teach and involve student in the learning process. Besides, by using a lot of teaching method, teachers, could create environment for effective learning and use technology to enhance the teaching of social studies. |
