英文摘要 | This paper applies two demand systems, the line approximation almost ideal demand system (LA/AIDS) and the translog demand system (TLDS), of PIGLOG type cost function to estimating demand elasticities of cabbage, Chinese cabbage, onions, garlic bulbs, cauliflower, and other vegetables The empirical results show that the model specification incorporating past consumption is more appropriate that the static model in terms of goodness of fit and prediction power The estimated elasticities indicate six vegetables products are all price inelastic In addition, among six vegetables products, the expenditure elasticities are relatively large for onions and garlic bulbs while cabbage and cauliflower are relatively small. |
