英文摘要 | Modulatory role of thermopulse (12hrs) of 30℃ gien either in the morning (0600 h) or evening (1800 h) on Mystus gonadotropin (mGtH, 25 μg/fish/0.2 ml saline) action on the gonadal recrudescence in the female catfish, Clarias batrachus was studied in the late postspawning phase of its annual reproductive cycle. Results indicated that two weeks treatment with mGtH to the fish held at constant hight temperature (maintained either under long photoperiod or natural photoperiod) stimulated the gonadal activity during the late postspawning phase. One the other hand Mystus gonadotropin administered 8hrs after the onset of morning thermopulse, induced stimulation in the studied reproductive parameters equally as compared to that at constant high temperature, but more than that observed when injection was given either 1 or 4 or 12 hrs of morning thermopulse. However, administration of mGtH at different intervals of evening thermopulse failed to elicit any change in the gonadal activity. A temporal variation in ovarian responses to exogenous hormones is demonstrated and thermopriming of 8 hrs duration, before exogenous administration of gonadotropin during the late postspawning phase can be more productive phase can be more productive and cost effective in pisciculture propagation. |
