英文摘要 | Research on distance-learning has centered on the promotion of the advantages and benefits it could bring to education. Within such ajustifiable research framework, much academic discourse has focused on the enhancement of distance-learning, rather than its accompanying disadvantages. Without ample introspection on the negative factors that might inhibit the implementation of distance learning, we may neglect the importance of clarifying the "dos" and "don'ts" when endeavoring to integrate the new technology in the educational system. In this article, the author presents his introspeclion on distance education along five dimensions: needs assessment of distance-learning, the impact of the extension programs of universities on distance-learning, interaction between formal education and distance-learning, cost-effective- ness and implementation risks, and the "direction" issue of distance learning. |
