中文摘要 | 在傳統的工廠環境中,通訊網路通常都是由有線匯流排架構的網路來達成。由於 在工廠中一些裝置如自動導引車與自移性機器人的移動性需求增加,加上工作平臺需要經常 改變,因此在工廠的有線網路中加入無線傳輸的能力是一大優勢。然而,現今無線媒介存取 控制協定( WMAC )與一般工廠的有線網路所採用的方式存在著極大的差異。例如,在工廠 環境下所使用的無線媒介存取控制協定最大的特點在於它不但要能傳送一般資料同時也得具 備即時傳送延遲敏感的信號或優先權信號傳送的能力。而無線區域網路通用的 802.11 標準 不論採用分散式協調功能或集中式協調功能皆不適於工廠網路應用。在本論文中,我們提出 了一個能與有線匯流排架構的網路(如控制區域網路)結合之新的無線媒介存取控制方法, 稱之為預約分散式協調功能協定。我們的方法把通道存取時間劃分成競爭區間與預約區間, 其最大的特色在於預約部份的邊界是可移動的。我們詳細的說明其運作方式,同時也藉由模 擬分析來評估其效能並且與無線區域網路 802.11 協定比較。模擬的結果顯示我們提出的方 法不但能滿足即時資料的時限要求同時不論在時間延遲或者吞吐率的表現上都比 802.11 協 定優越。而且,藉由使用我們提出的方法也能達到優先權傳送的需求。 |
英文摘要 | A traditional factory communication network is usually implemented based on a wired bus structure. Adding wireless access capability to such networks is certainly preferable due to the fact that there is increasing demand for mobile terminals such as automatically guided vehicles (AGV's) or autonomous mobile robots (AMR's), or, more often, the need of floor restructuring. The wireless media access control (WMAC) for such networks will be much different from those used in local area networks (LANs) because of the distinct traffic environment. For example, an important feature of the WMACs used for industrial LANs is the mixture of delay-sensitive or prioritized messages and conventional data traffic. The 802.11 MAC protocol utilizes either the distributed coordination function (DCF) or point coordination function (PCF) which is not suitable for such applications. In this paper, we propose a new WMAC method for access points interconnected with a wiredbus network (such as a control area network, CAN). The proposed protocol, called the Reservation-DCF protocol, partitions the channel access time into contention and reservation compartments. The distinct feature of the proposed protocol is the use of movable boundaries for reservation compartments. The protocol and access algorithm is illustrated and its performance evaluation is demonstrated through simulation and compared to the 802.11 protocol. The results show that guaranteed delay for time-bounded traffic can be achieved while still outperforming the 802.11 protocol in terms of both delay and throughput performance. Furthermore, priority transmission by using the proposed protocol is also achievable. |
