中文摘要 | 分析沈積物有機碳同位素只要在前製備有些許誤差而混入少量組成差異極大的無機碳,就成造成極大的誤差,並導致錯誤的詮釋。本研究之主要目的即在探討有機碳同位素分析前製備之方法對於有機碳同位素分析準確度之影響程度。本研究利用真空回收法與高溫燃燒法來測量CO2回收效率與不同酸液前處理對有機碳同位素分析準確度之影響與程度。研究結果顯示,有機碳含量之高回收率可確保有機碳同位素之分析品質。 使用不同濃度之酸液並且以酸洗之方式處理樣品,發現不同酸液的前處理,在完全去除無機碳之條件下對其有機碳δ13C數值並無太大的影響,有機碳氣體回收率差時其δ13C的值測嚴重偏輕,最大可達1.5‰之偏差;而當回收率佳時,酸化過程對所測得δ13C的數值影響不大,並且都在分析誤差範圍之內。 |
英文摘要 | Organic carbon isotope analysis is one of the most common methods to distinguish the source of terrestrial and marine organic carbon in sediments. A precise determination of organic carbon isotopic ratio is essential in distinguishing the origin of sedimentary organic carbon. In this study, we present analytical results showing that the most important factor in organic carbon isotope analysis is the efficiency of CO2 gas recovery during sample preparation. Determination of CO2 extraction efficiency is a prerequisite in accurate measurement of organic carbon isotopic values. Lower CO2 recovery can produce as large as 1.5‰ difference in δ13C measurement. Precise δ13C determination can be achieved only when CO2 extraction efficiency reached 90% and above. A lowering of CO2 extraction to less than 90% significantly influence organic carbon δ13C measurements. in addition, type and concentration of various acid used in removing inorganic carbon for the sediments showed little effect in changing the organic carbon isotopic values, as long as all the inorganic carbon was removed. |
