英文摘要 | This paper describes the effect of count rate variations on image contrast in an E.CAM dual head coincidence camera system. We also characterize the uses of noise equivalent count (NEC) rates to optimize the clinical use of such camera system. In this study, it was found that the variations were significantly affected by the scanning geometry, radiotracer bio-distribution to the objects and locations of regions of interest (ROI). Keeping the same scanning conditions during the scanning procedures was found to be essential if a random scatter correction was not implemented before applying image reconstruction. It was also concluded that under most scanning conditions, the photo-peak-photopeak (p-p) acquisition, even with its relatively lower counting sensitivity, provided better image contrast compared to the p-p with photopeak-Compton acquisition (p-C). |
