英文摘要 | The Ti content of metamorphic biotite in equilibrium with a Ti-saturating phase such as ilmenite or rutile increases with increasing metamorphic grade; furthermore, the Ti content is believed to correlate positively with the Fe/(Fe+Mg) ratio. However, it has been known for some time that biotites could experience reequilibration during the retrograde process. Plots of Ti-Fe/(Fe+Mg) showed that the diotites of high-grade rocks occurring in the Blue Ridge, southern Appalachian underwent distinct reequilibration. the possible mechanisms causing reequilibration include Fe-Mg exchange, net transfer reaction, ilmenite exsolution, and rutile exsolution. This suggests that, to avoid the effect of reequilibration through retrograde reaction, the biotities should be carefully chosen and used with caution in the thermobarometric calculation. |
