英文摘要 | During the stage of leveling and aligning, it is one of most critical problems of straight wire appliance that the preangulation of canine brackets make the anterior teeth flared out, and then, increase anchorage strain for the molars. Some orthodontist suggested elastic chain from molar to canine to solve the above problems, but distal tipping of canine and bite deepening are side effects for the inadequate stiffness of leveling archwire. Dr. McLaughlin and Dr. Bennett introduced "laceback" technique to solve the problem in 1989. They thought the laceback not only prevented the cuspid crowns from tipping forward, but actually resulted in surprisingly effective distal cuspid movement without the tipping effect the occurred with elastic forces. But we think the mechanism of laceback is not what they said. We modify the laceback technique and try to explain the mechanism of laceback in this article. |
