英文摘要 | Finite element analysis of arrays of sonar transducers becomes costly in memory andcomputation time for arrays with many elements. This becomes even more severe a problem if theindividual transducers have complex structures. However because in many cases the individual transducerelements are identical it is possible to treat them as repeated substructures, each substructure may then beviewed as a superelement which is defined by only those nodes which couple into the overall structure ofthe array. This technique is analogous to the use ofThevenin equivalent sources in the analysis of complexelectrical circuits. By the use of this technique it is possible to analyse the electroacoustic performance oflarger arrays than hitherto possible within the limitations get by the computer memory. This paperdescribes this superelement technique and results are presented for a simple two-element transducer arrayanalysed for its free (unloaded) vibration behaviour both by fiill FE analysis of the complete structure andby the substructuring technique. The results by the two methods are shown to agree and are alsocompared with measurements on an experimental model. |
