中文摘要 | 本實驗是利用自行所組合的一套包含光彈性調節器(Photo-Elastic Modulator;P.E.M)之光學量測系統,能精確地測量LCD Call之相位差而求得其間隔 距大小之研究;同時,可直接量測出其扭轉角度之大小,進而能檢測出LCD Call 配向之角度與其方向之正確性。此外,在本研究中也利用偏光顯微鏡之補償板 (Berek Compensator)量測無扭轉的水平試片(πCell)之間隔距,並與本實驗之P.E.M 系統所量得的結果相比較。 由實驗結果可知本套設備可快速、便利而準確地測量出LCD間隔距和扭轉角的大 小,其誤差在0.1μm以內,而且在二十次連續測試下,所估計出由機械精度引起 的誤差小於±0.02μm以內。 |
英文摘要 | In this paper, we assemble a group of equipments with a Photo-Elastic Modulator into an optical measurement system. This optical method is presented which allows us to measure accurately the phase difference of a filled twisted nematic liquid crystal display, and calculate simultaneously the twist angle as well as cell gap of the sample. It can also determine the sense of handedness of the twist and the two rubbing directions of an unknown panel. Moreover, we use the Berek compensatormethod to obtain the result of cell gap measurement of the n cell which is called parallel cell or no twisted cell in comparison with the P.E.M method. According to the result of measurement, we approve that we present an optical method to be able to measure the cell gap and twist angle of a twisted nematic LCD cell rapidly, conveniently, and accurately by using a Photo-Elastic Modulator. The measurement uncertainty of the cell gap is within0.1μm. Besides, the reliability is determined through twenty times repeated measurements had beendone of a n cell to check the mechanical and electronic reliability. The results exhibit an average meanerror about ±0.02 μm. |
