英文摘要 | In general, the base isolators may be divided into two groups, i.e., the sliding isolation and rubber bearing isolation system. The former includes the pure friction system, Electric de France system and the resilient-friction base isolator (R.F.B.I.). The friction pendulum system (FPS) presented in this paper is similar but more advanced than the R.F.B.I. isolator. The local bending effect of the FPS isolator that was neglected by most researchers had been included in the present finite element formulation. The proposed formulation provides a powerful tool for simulating the seismic behavior of structures that are installed with the FPS-isolators. It is concluded that the seismic resistance of the bridges can be enhanced through installation of the FPS isolators. |
