英文摘要 | Continuous bioreactors operated periodically are theoretically compared with conventional steady state operations in terms of biomass production with various growth models. Analysis indicates that a continuous bioreactor subject to cyclic feed concentration may behave very differently from that by cyclic dilution rate. A bioreactor of Moser kinetics with constant yield factor, constant maintenance coefficient, or variable yield factor could perform better by periodic feed operation compared with that by optimal steady state operation. However, kinetic models of Monod, Tessier and Andrew could only result in superior performance with a variable yield factor. Therefore, the difference between Moser model and others is noticed. |
