英文摘要 | This paper investigates the feasibility of applying the three- dimensional (3D) filtering approach to reconstruction of the brain potential mapping on a realistic head model, based on a limited number of EEG (electroencephalograph) recording electrodes. Our earlier study showed that the 3D filtering method based on the spherical head model performed well in comparison with the 4NN (four-nearest-neighbor) and the spherical splines methods. Recently, the digital signal processing (DSP) technologies have been fast developed in both software and hardware. The future prospect of this research is the possibility of displaying the real-time, animated brain potential mapping based on the DSP technologies. Since the spherical splines method can not be applied to the realistic head model, the authors compare the efficacy of the 3D filtering and the 4NN methods in constructing the brain potential mapping on a realistic head model. To justify that 3D filtering method has performance comparable to the 4NN method, we evaluate the performance by quantifying the deviation of the interpolated result from the true potential mapping. |
