英文摘要 | The purpose of this paper was to use a noninvasive in vivo quantitative technique to measurement of the shock absorbing capacity of the tibia. In the study a low mass accelerometer was registered in the tibial tuberosity of subject to measurement the biomechanical property of bone vibrations resulting from the gait. The subject was asked to walk on a force platform. By the theory of mechanical vibration, the frequency response function of the tibia can be found. The results were shown that the osteoarthritic subjects have larger resonant frequency and smaller damping ratio than the normal subjects and mild osteoarthritic subjects. This indicates that the subjects with osteoarthritis have a decreased shock absorbing capacity in the tibia and more stiffen bone as compared to the normal subjects. The study shows this quantitative noninvasive in vivo technique may be useful as an additional clinical technique to reveal an osteoarthritis pathology. It also may be a helpful method to early discovery the risk for the development of osteoarthritis. |
