英文摘要 | The language teacher in a language laboratory course confronts the problem of which material he/she should use. The plethora of materials is staggering. After surveying many items, I decided that in the television age, with the short attention span of students, the Cable News Network (CNN) is a valuable method of teaching English in the classroom. This paper discusses a general theory of language learning, emphasizing listening comprehension. This is followed by an explanation of how these materials were obtained, and a discusson on how these materials were used to improve listening skills and expand student vocabularies. |
