英文摘要 | This paper uses the model developed by western scholars to test union loyalty and union participation in Taiwan and finds several conclusions. First, the most prevalent explanation for the union loyalty and participation in western model is job frustration and dissatisfaction. However, the paper finds that there is no significant impact of job satisfaction on union loyalty and participation in Taiwan. Second, the fact that unions provide non-work related utility to workers des not increase that commitment of workers does not increase the commitment of workers to unions in Taiwan. Third union loyalty is a good predictor toward union participation. From the above conclusions, we find that the western model does not fit Taiwan's trade union very well. Trade unions in Taiwan are not related with neither the expansion of capitalist market nor the role of collective bargaining. |
