英文摘要 | The scattering and/or absorption of atmospheric aerosols by solar radiation play an important role in direct radiative forcing of climate. Atmospheric aerosols were collected in Chungli and Tainan each for a month from Fall to Winter 1995. An aerosol spectrometer (PMS model PCASP-X) was used to measure aerosol size distribution, and an integrating nephelometer (TSI model 3563) was set up to acquire aerosol light-scattering coefficients (σ ). The daytime average of σ s at green wavelength measured in Chungli were in the range of 0.010 to 0.438 Km , while those in Tainan varied from 0.071 to 0.366 Km 。 As a linear regression analysis shows, σ and aerosol volume concentration are very consistent with R at 0.80. The hourly averages ofσ s smoothly increase with the increasing of the ambient relative humidity. In contrast, an exponential inverse relationship is shown between the hourly average ofσ s and wind speed. The characteristics of aerosols collected in this work are consistent with previous data on weather types associated with air quality in Taiwan. Using the Mie theory and taking averages of aerosol properties, the daytime averages ofσ s were calculated, the value of which compared well with the measuredσ s. The R of the linear regression is 0.89. The calculations of the daytime averages ofσ s clearly show that particles with sizes ranging from 0.3 to 0.8 μm are more important than other sizes in the determination ofσ . |
