英文摘要 | The effect of the presence of different air voids with varying diameters and fixed length, inserted in the shield, on the distributions of slow and thermal neutrons and also the total gamma dose rates is discussed in this work. This study has been carried out on different shield arrangements containing water, iron and ordinary or ilmentite concrete, having a certain duct length with different diameters. Considerable uncertainties and errors have been observed in some available formulae obtained by other authers in some checked cases, when compared with the corresponding experimental data. In addition, there were a relatively large number of constants to be determined. Because of large errors and the need to decrease the required number of onstants, other new semi-empirical formulae have been developed in this work in order to decrease numerical errors and minimize the number of required constants. In order to obtain the required neutron fluxes and gamma dose rate distributions, greatly simplified formulae having reasonable errors could be achieved when compared to the given experimental data. |
