英文摘要 | The distribution of fish population was affected by many environmental factors. We used linear regression to find the effects of altitude, bed slope, river width, depth, current velocity, discharge, water temperature, turbidity, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, pH, and total dissolved solids on the abundance of an the deep-body shovelnose minnow, Varicorhinus alticorpus. From 1993 to 1996, we collected fish seasonally by using a backpack shocker and measured environmental factors in the sampled areas immediately after shocking. Water temperature, depth, and altitude had significant effects on the abundance on the deep-body shovelnose minnow in the river, and these factors explained 76% variations on the distribution of the species. Water temperature was the most significant factor affecting the distribution of the deep-body shovelnose minnow in the Bay-Nan River. |
