英文摘要 | El Uonado hablador (1624-1626), written by Alcala Yanez y Rivera (1563-1632), is a very interesting book due to its high density in ideological content, and also due to its faithfill pictures of the social reality of its time. These characteristics and the fact that this book is not doctrinal but a "novela picaresca" made it a special locus to search for logical fractures in the discourse. The references to China seem to show one of those logical fractures, because it presents in one text something not found in other Western works, a cannibal vision of China, and in another text an ideological usage of China to reject any attempt to break the hierarchical order of its Spanish society through success in trade or emigration. |
