英文摘要 | Although historical concept of GBR has been originated in 1957, not until 1990, was guided bone regeneration (GBR) successfully applied in implant dentistry. The improvement in surgical technique and the barrier materials have made the clinical success of GBR possible. ePTFE is currently the standard nonresorbable membrane for GBR. However, it requires a second surgical procedure for membrane removal. Bioabsorbable materials eliminate the need for second-stage surgery. A variety of bioabsorbable barrier materials have been marketed during these few years. However, these materials are quiet expensive. Many factors have been implied to affect the success of GBR. Further studies should be done to evaluate the relative tissue response and efficacy of these bioabsorbable membranes in bone healing. Could tissue integration occur in bioabsorbable barrier membranes? Could such tissue integration affect the final results of GBR? A few studies have compared the osteopromotive effect of bioabsorbable membranes to ePTFE, but very few studies compared one bioabsorbable membrane to another. The purpose of this paper is to provide the most update information concerning the history, basic theory'and clinical applications of GBR, to discuss factors which influence the success of GBR using bioabsorbable barrier membranes, and to imply the further research directions in this area. |
