英文摘要 | Effects of truncations of computational domains have been studied for the development of a flow past a circular cylinder. Of particular interest is the separated flow at low Reynolds numbers. The results reveal some interesting features. The linear relation between the length of the recirculating region and the Reynolds number doesn't exist for a severe truncation, in contrast to the linear situation in an unbounded flow. In particular, when the truncation factor, defined as the ratio of the width of the computational domain to the diameter of the cylinder, exceeds 0.2, the linear relation is destroyed and a more complicated one takes place. In addition, the domain truncation also strongly affects the Reynolds number above which the flow separates from the cylinder. |
