英文摘要 | This article explores listening comprehension, grammatical structures, and vocabulary acquisition that students learned by three modalities on a CD-ROM-based course. In an attempt to compare the learning outcomes under the condition of the same materials instructed by three classes: learner-centered CD-ROM, teacher-and learner-centered audio, and video, 60 cadets received New Interchanged I course based on the contents of CD-ROM. The scores of the 1st listening and grammar tests showed that there was no significant difference on the listening, but grammar test. In the later retention test held after three weeks revealed that three groups generally scored lower than the on-line test, particularly the audio and video groups. The interactive and prompt features of multimedia learning gave positive effects on students' autonomous learning. Some assumptions that should be taken into consideration about testing on line were also discussed. |
