英文摘要 | The active contour model ("snakes") is a useful tool for extracting border line of an object from an image. But the existing snake models are efficient only if the initial position of the active contour is close to that of the real object edge, moreover, these methods are lacking in robustness against noise. In this paper, a novel algorithm called self-organizing snakes (SOS) is proposed to overcome these problems. The SOS algorithm incorporates the spirit of self-organizing map (SOM) into active contour models, can effectively generate external forces for an acitve contour to move toward the object and to leave away from the noise. Experimental results are given for illustrations. |
