英文摘要 | A new approach is proposed to segment hand-written off-line Chinese character image with horizontal rulings and vertical rulings. Many papers have been published in off-line Chinese characters recognition, but they focus on single isolated Chinese character recognition only. The character segmentation is rarely discussed. The segmentation is the preprocess of off-line Chinese character recognition. Correct: segmentation will make the character recognition more efficient, but it is difficult to segment hand-written off-line Chinese characters correctly. A novel method using strokes to build stroke bounding boxes is presented in this paper. The knowledge-based merging operation is used to merge mose stroke bounding boxes and finally a dynamic programming method is applied to find the best segmentation boundaries. A serial of experiments prove that the system is feasible and make the hand-written off-line Chinese character segmentation has good result. |
