英文摘要 | This study analyzes film condensation on a rotating cone situated in a large body of pure saturated vapor. The centrifugal field, associated with rotation, and the gravity field sweep the condensate downward along the cone surface. We apply Nusselt-type assumptions in formulating the problem. Results show that the known solutions of gravity-dominated natural condensation (Nusselt solution) and rotation-dominated forced condensation (Sparrow-Hartnett solution) are special cases that fall within the scope of this analysis. We provide criteria are given for the region in which the natural or forced condensation apply. The results show that as the rotation numbers, xω²(sin ß)²/ge cos ß, are smaller than 10¯², Nusselt solution is applicable. For the case of xω²(sin ß)²/ge cos ß>30, Sparrow-Hartnett solution does apply as well as general expressions for predicting film thickness and condensation heat transfer are also presented in the form of approximate formulae for ease of application. |
