英文摘要 | Experimental observations of shear strength for solid and hollow cylinder speciments on a fine sand are presented. They include conventional triaxial shear tests and triaxialtorsional hollow cylinder tests. The test results indicate that the hollow cylinder speciments tested in rotational shear were somewhat less resistant to cyclic loading than those subjected to triaxial cyclic tests. But, the cyclic strength in hollow cylinder specimens was greater than that in solid cylinder specimens. For the monotonic undrained compression tests, the failure stress ratios of both solid and hollow cylinder specimens are similar in each other. For the undrained extension tests, the failure stress ratio of hollow cylinder speciments were observed to be 6 to 10% less than that of the solid specimens. |
