英文摘要 | This research develops an ideal methodology for quantitative analysis of product appearance design development. By using "stylibility" as the conceptual basis and "styling value" as a measuring tool, this research synthesized a J-shaped curve development model. The isolation of product aesthetics (isolating functional form and decorative form from product appearance) is the keypoint. Statistics of styling value reveal that a similar curve development model for the evolution of product appearance design can be found: the development curve shape for functional form is convex; for decorative form, is concave; and for stylibility, is a letter J-shaped curve. From influential factors analysis, three major influential forces can be observed: technology assist, market sustenance, and environment lift. The further analysis of these forces benefits our understanding of their interactive behavior and the charateristics of J curve development. |
